2022 Jeep Wrangler And Gladiator To Get 100:1 Crawl Ratio

Jeep is updating its Wrangler and Gladiator model line-up for 2022, introducing more tech into the mix as well as more customization options. The new versions will arrive with some very interesting features next year, if you’re willing to pay for them. One of the highlights will be, without a doubt, the 100:1 crawl ratio.

Overall, the changes are relatively subtle, with focus on small upgrades here and there. The entry-level Sport trims will no longer feel as cheap as they did, since the tiny 5-inch infotainment system has been largely replaced. On everything except two-door Wrangler Sports models without air conditioning, customers will get a larger and more advanced 7-inch display.

When it comes to infotainment systems, the Wrangler Sahara and Rubicon now come with an 8.4-inch touchscreen display as standard equipment. A nine-speaker Alpine audio system and an 8.4-inch infotainment system with GPS navigation are now standard on the Gladiator Overland, Rubicon, and Mojave.

The Wrangler Sahara and Rubicon, as well as the Gladiator Overland, Rubicon, and Mojave, now include a keyless entry system. In addition, regardless of trim, both models get a new standard cabin air filter that takes care of up to 95% of particles. Finally, Silver Zynith replaces Billet Silver on both models. While the Gladiator’s enhancements stop there, the Wrangler’s Sahara 4xe plug-in hybrid now has blue tow hooks and blue highlights on the wheels as standard equipment. New 20-inch wheels and side mirrors with integrated turn signals are also available for the High Altitude 4xe.

Last, but not least, the big news for off-roaders, as we mentioned before, is the introduction of a 4.88 axle ratio on the Rubicon. It may not sound like much but it will allow for a 100:1 crawl ratio from factory. Initially, this feature will be offered on models equipped with the six-speed manual gearbox and the 3.6-liter V6 engine. However, Jeep says that it will also be available with the 8-speed automatic later down the line. Pricing for the 2022 Jeep Wrangler starts at $29,725 while the Gladiator is asking for at least $36,610. Both prices are excluding the $1,595 destination fee.
