Lexus announced the pricing for its popular NX model, four months after the official unveiling. In the US, the 2022 model year versions will kick off at $37,950 MSRP. The new SUV will come with a new design, a new cockpit and two screens inside.
The cheapest model you’ll be able to buy will be the Lexus NX 250, which uses a 2.5-liter, naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine under the hood. As standard, it comes equipped with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, sending all of the 203 HP and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque to the front wheels alone for a starting price of $37,950 MSRP. All-wheel drive costs an extra $1,600.
Moving up in the range, you’ll find the NX 350, powered by a smaller, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that’s turbocharged and develops 275 HP and 317 lb-ft (430 Nm) of torque. The 350 also uses an 8-speed automatic transmission but it’s hooked up to an all-wheel drive system by default. Pricing for the Lexus NX 350 starts at $41,550 MSRP.
The range is completed by two hybrid choices. First up is the Lexus NX 350h which relies on the same 2.5-liter engine as the NX 250 but combined with an electric motor on top. All-in, the NX 350h can rely on up to 239 HP and 176 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque. Pricing for the cheapest hybrid option starts at $41,050.
Then there’s the NX 450h+, a plug-in hybrid choice for those looking to do some purely electric driving. Just like the other, non-PHEV hybrid in the range, it uses a similar 2.5-liter atmospheric engine but combined with two electric motors for a total power output of 302 HP and 167 lb-ft (227 Nm) of torque. The NX 450h+ comes with all-wheel drive as standard and a starting price of $55,560 MSRP. All cars are subjected to a $1,075 destination and handling fee.
Standard equipment includes features such as pre-collision assistance, lane-departure alerts with steering assistance, intelligent high-beams, adaptive cruise control, road sign assistance, and – introduced on the MY22 SUV – curve speed management and intersection support. There’s also risk-avoidance emergency steer assistance, left turn oncoming vehicle detection and braking, and right/left turn oncoming pedestrian detection and braking.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also included in the standard kit, while the infotainment system now comes with either a standard 9.8-inch screen or an optional 14-inch one. Optional features include a Digital Key, wireless charger, cloud-based navigation system, smart routing and many more.
