New 2023 Ford Ranger Launch Date Announced

The Ford Ranger history book is about to get a new chapter. The new model, that has been in the works for the past several years, is about to be unveiled. Ford announced the official date too, as the event is set to take place on November 24.

The Dearborn manufacturer continued its teasing campaign with a darkened shot of the car’s front end, where we can easily make out the daytime running lights that will be using LED technology of the new model. According to various reports, the new Ford Ranger will be using an upgraded version of the T6 platform, shared with the likes of Volkswagen’s Amarok model. Either way, the new Ranger is set to be the best yet to come out of the capable hands of the people over at Ford.

According to blue oval representatives, in the making of the car, the engineers and designers interviewed more than 5,000 people in order to find out exactly what they need from the car. Furthermore, they also talked to shop owners and mechanics to take their perspective into account as well.

Unlike the current model, the new Ranger will truly be a global product, with its launch happening in over 180 markets worldwide. The engine range will vary depending on the market, and diesel engines will most likely be kept on, especially in Europe. Furthermore, plug-in hybrid could be introduced, to help curb the emissions impact other engine choices have on the fleet numbers.

The US customers should expect to see a 2.3-liter Ecoboost 4-cylinder engine in the cards, with up to around 300 HP. Furthermore, those wishing for a six-cylinder could go for the 2.7-liter EcoBoost version, that will have at least 330 HP. We’ll also be curious to see how the new Ranger Raptor will shape up and what kind of engine the engineers will go for.
