Porsche is increasing production for its successful “Paint to Sample” program in order to meet rising demand and improve customer satisfaction. More than 160 pre-approved colors will be accessible with the newly redesigned “Paint to Sample” program. Furthermore, customers will be able to request a completely custom color through the “Paint to Sample Plus,” which requires thorough feasibility testing.
These hues join Porsche’s existing paint options, which include many no-cost, non-metallic choices as well as additional-cost metallic colors ranging from $650 to $840 depending on the model. Special color options range in price from $2,580 to $3,270, depending on the model.

“Individualization is at the core of Porsche. Customers have been making special requests to personalize their cars since our earliest model, the 356,” said Kjell Gruner, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America. “Paint to Sample is integral in satisfying that demand. With this offering, we bring many historic colors back to life and expand the catalog to a total of more than 160 choices.”
The color palette is diverse and varies based on the model and manufacturing facility. For the 911 and 718 versions, over 100 different colors are available in addition to the normal options. More than 50 Paint to Sample color options are available for the Panamera, Macan, and Cayenne. The Taycan is available in 65 different colors.

The increase in paint choices is made feasible in part by a new color mixing bank that went online this year in the Zuffenhausen plant, which assembles the 911, 718, and Taycan model lines. Paint to Sample capacity for 911 vehicles, for example, will grow from about five to nearly 20 cars every day. The Paint to Sample procedure does not add to the overall production time.
Customers can request Paint to Sample from a Porsche dealer near them. In the future, the Porsche Car Configurator will be able to display the complete Paint to Sample color palette. The cost is determined based on the model and variant. For most 911 and 718 models, Paint to Sample costs $11,430. The pricing for the 718 GT, 911 Turbo, Turbo S, and 911 GT3 models is $12,830.

On all models except the Cayenne, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur offers Paint to Sample Plus for special color requirements. In these cases, the buyer gives their dealer a color sample, which is then forwarded to Porsche AG for comprehensive quality and feasibility testing. The customer automobile is not finished in the customised color until the feasibility testing is completed, which can take up to 11 months in some situations. Porsche will reimburse the cost of the feasibility study if the paint color is not viable. Paint to Sample Plus costs $22,860 for the majority of vehicles and $25,660 for 911 Turbo and GT variants, as well as 718 GT models.
